The preparation of appropriate estate planning documents is of vital importance, as it allows for anticipation of important life events, including but not limited to:
· Directing receipt of estate assets
· Naming guardians for minor children
· Planning for incapacity
· Recognizing potential tax issues
· Avoiding the time and substantial expense of probate
In addition to a living trust and will, most estate plans include additional key documents, including:
· Durable powers of attorney for health care and property management
· Living wills (medical directives)
· HIPAA and CMIA Waivers
· Deeds transferring real property to trust

About Erin M. Nell
Prior to founding Nell Law APC, Erin worked at a boutique estate planning firm in San Diego. Her practice focused on complex and high-end estate planning for clients located throughout the state.
Before moving to San Diego, Erin was a partner at a Napa firm focused predominantly on estate planning and business transactions. She represented trustees, beneficiaries, businesses, and non-profit entities throughout the Napa Valley.
Erin is an active member of the community, having served as President of Napa County Women Lawyers, President and founding member of the Napa County Young Lawyers Division, and on the boards of several other nonprofit organizations.
Erin is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2012. Before law school, Erin graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a double-concentration in Accounting and Marketing, as well as a Minor in Economics.
Erin has been recognized as a Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” in the area of Estate Planning.
